The NY Marine Rescue Center needs our help! NYMRC relies on public donations to support the various efforts which include response and rehabilitation of marine mammals and sea turtles as well as community outreach and educational programs.
What does The New York Marine Rescue Center Do?
- Provides a sustainable response effort for marine mammals and sea turtles stranding throughout New York;
- Operates the only facility in New York permitted to rehabilitate marine mammals and sea turtles;
- Collects sound science to help identify stranding trends, highlight viruses and continue to protect endangered and threatened species; and
- Encourage conservation and stewardship of the marine environmental through scientific research and public educational programs.
This was a fun (because everyone loves shopping on amazon) and teachable moment in my household. We live on an island and it is so important to teach our children about marine conservation and the impact it can have on us.
